Where did my donkey go, if you've seen him let me know

We had a snow storm last night and this morning. We got a few inches of snow but it mostly just blew around and made drifts. Arthur, the donkey, has an amazingly thick coat and seams to enjoy in the snow more then the rest of us. This is him after the wind stopped. Joe said, "Hay look at Arthur." And I looked up right at him and said, " Where is he, I don't see him." He was harder to spot in real life but it makes a good picture all the same. In about an hour he had all the snow off and looked like himself again.

St Patrick's Day

So yesterday I was sick. I had planed to make an Irish supper and leprecon cookies for the kids. We don't relay celebrate Holidays like this but I thought it was a good excuse to learn a little about Ireland. I made the cookie dough in the morning and did my chores but by 9:30 I was on in the phone crying to Joe. I'm a big baby when it comes to being sick and my body hurt so bad all I wanted to do was sleep. Thanks to the boys who will find any reason to fight, rest was unlikely. So Joe has a talk with them on the the phone and the rest of the day went great. I have no idea what he said but it worked. Today I am feeling a little better so I make the cookies, better late then never, I will make my fun supper and we will learn about Ireland tomorrow.

First ones up

This morning I had broccoli up! It only took 3 days. I bought a heat mat this year because it is cool in the basement and last year it took almost 2 weeks for things to come up. I knew the mat would help them along but I never dreamed it would bring them up that fast.
This is where Joe was working today!

First planting

Today I started getting things ready to plant my broccoli, tomatoes, peppers and onions. I should have had my onions in a few weeks ago but better late then never. I decided to make little newspaper pots last year to try to save money but this year I have so many to make I'm not sure it will be worth it.

Second tooth

Hank lost his second tooth last night about 8:30. What a way to get to go to bed late!

A big horse for a big boy

We talked Hank into riding Joe's horse today. He loved it. His new saddle fit Puppy great and she listened to him really well. Now the twins have horses to ride and I'm stuck walking.

He looks good.

Fence

We finished putting up electric fence yesterday and turned everyone out but Buster (stud) and the donkey. Buster gets to go out at night when the girls are in and poor Artur is stuck in all the time. He just walks right through the fence like it's not on.

The kids had fun playing outside as I took pictures of the horses.
